So, I'm just chillin' once more online, and I think this weekend will be devoted to book writing, if I can gather the cojones to actually write more of it. In other news, Friday has almost arrived, and that feels good.

No!! Arthur is getting cancelled after 25 Seasons! I obviously haven’t watched any episode made after 2002 and I’m not a fan of the animation in more recent seasons, but still, don’t remind me how old I am! Or how I can no longer play “Arthur’s Reading Race” through legal means now that my laptop doesn’t have a CD-ROM drive!

It didn't end, it got cancelled.

@jthrash @stuckathome That’s what I said in the first sentence: cancelled. Of course, I always say “cancelled” even when I mean “the show ended” because as far as cartoon channels go, only Cartoon Network seems to ever give half of its shows proper endings, regardless of whether they’re still getting decent ratings or not. I’m of course more used to the “Nickelodeon” approach where shows go on and on and get a ton of unneeded spin-offs before being quietly cancelled long after anyone cares. Which I suppose is still better than whatever the heck is going on with the Simpsons and Family Guy…

Oh, good point, yeah.

Better to die with nothing than suddenly live with shit tarnishing your legacy.

@jthrash @stuckathome @stuckathome That’s what I think, yeah, but unfortunately the shareholders don’t seem to agree. Nickelodeon traditionally makes far more money than competitors, especially nowadays when apparently the only reason the younger generation would turn on a TV is for SpongeBob. And of course Cartoon Network/HBO Max isn’t completely innocent when it comes to milking the other half of its series. Still, that’s why series that end at just the right time earn massive amounts of respect from me.

Same.
