Good news, I have therapy tomorrow.

The bad news is it's been like a week and I miss my boyfriend already.

Also, I have seen the darkside of nostalgia. It's not pretty.

Anyway, how are you all?

You’ve seen the dark side of nostalgia, huh? Elaborate! Although I think I know what you’re talking about. My week has been fine, personally. I’ve finally got the good idea to practice 3D sculpting every day and I am seeing notable improvements by actually doing it and not just watching tutorials all day.

Yep, and as for the Dark Side of Nostalgia it's mostly got to do with how the Rugrats reboot is so close to the original run with horrible tweaks involved from "fans" that the first spinoff they did back in 2003 looks more daring by comparison.

yeah tell us about this dark side of nostalgia

The Dark Side of Nostalgia is mainly when a reboot caves so hard into the whims of its (usually unstable) fanbase and makes so many changes that any spinoffs the show might have had in its original popular run look better by comparison.

@jthrash @stuckathome Oh, I was thinking…darker. I won’t comment too much on the Rugrats reboot since I want to work at Nickelodeon, but in general I don’t even bother to acknowledge the news surrounding reboots unless the reboot actually improves from the original in meaningful ways (basically the DuckTales 2017 reboot). It’s a bit disappointing that the Rugrats reboot seems to be less interesting than other Nicktoons reboots by the original team like Enter the Florpus or Static Cling, but of course the Rugrats is basically like Sonic the Hedgehog or Star Wars where it has a billion “fans” on social media who have wildly different opinions on where the series should go next, thus it creates a lot of confusion for the original team to this day.

Actually it feels like the team was so happy to work on mainline Rugrats again that it feels like they retroactively decided to change shit about the original based on "fan reception/headcanon."
