It’s cool seeing all the people I used to follow on the…bird app coming here. Have you also tried Mastodon yet? I’m curious about these open-source “fediverse apps” (Blender 3D and the brief time I had an old Linux laptop gave me a good first impression of open source), and it might be both more similar to…the bird app and more useful for writers and poets.

Bird app = Twitter? Do you plan on leaving entirely or just more so focusing on other places case it does derail entirely?

@stuckathome Perhaps the only thing keeping me from trying Mastodon myself is that it still seems to be a community about discussing politics similar to Twitter, although supposedly the only difference is that it doesn’t have an algorithm that nudges you towards more fringe worldviews like Twitter and its ilk. My sanity can’t take that stuff anymore, I just want good drawings and dumb memes from my social media feeds.

It also seems to be like Linux and Blender
in a less positive way in that there is a huge learning curve to using it.

Good news is that I have since discovered that the Newgrounds forums have dedicated sections for writing short stories and poems. That may be the easiest option for displaced Twitter writers for now.

Probably a good call. Future seems highly uncertain at the moment, though when Elon first bought the place I was ready to see it be more popular than ever before, strange how that turned on him...

Signed up. :) Doubt I'll be active much but it's nice with parallel accounts, y'never know.
